Peer Review Process

The Case Reports and Case Series in Cardiology Journal accepts submissions that present new discoveries and innovative developments in cardiovascular medicine, cardiovascular therapeutics, and related fields. Contributions may be submitted in the form of original articles, review articles, case reports, short communications, mini reviews, commentaries, perspectives, opinions, editorials, editor’s notes, and image-based articles.

This is an open-access journal, meaning all published articles are freely available online without subscription or access barriers to researchers worldwide.

Overview of the Peer Review Process

1. Submission of Manuscript

Authors must submit manuscripts through the journal’s online submission system. Submissions must comply with the journal’s formatting, structural, and ethical guidelines.

2. Initial Editorial Assessment

The editorial team conducts a preliminary review to assess the manuscript’s suitability. This includes evaluating the originality, relevance, adherence to guidelines, and overall quality. Manuscripts that do not meet basic criteria or fall outside the scope of the journal may be rejected without external peer review.

3. Selection of Reviewers

If the manuscript passes the initial assessment, it is assigned to at least two independent reviewers who are experts in the relevant field. Reviewers are selected to ensure there are no conflicts of interest with the authors.

4. Peer Review

Reviewers evaluate the manuscript based on the following criteria:

  • Scientific validity and methodology

  • Novelty and significance of findings

  • Clarity and organization

  • Compliance with ethical standards

They provide constructive, unbiased feedback and recommendations for improvement.

5. Editorial Decision

After reviewing the reviewers' comments, the editorial team decides on one of the following outcomes:

  • Accept – The manuscript is accepted with no or minor revisions

  • Revise and Resubmit – Revisions are requested before further consideration

  • Reject – The manuscript is not suitable for publication in the journal

6. Revisions

When revisions are requested, authors are provided a specific deadline to address the reviewers’ comments and resubmit their manuscript. Revised manuscripts may undergo further peer review, either by the original reviewers or new experts, depending on the extent of changes.

7. Final Decision

The editorial team reviews the final version of the manuscript. If it meets all journal standards, it is accepted for publication.

8. Publication

Accepted articles are processed and published online as open access, ensuring maximum visibility and accessibility. Each published article is assigned a Digital Object Identifier (DOI) for referencing and indexing.
